Altar Server Training

Altar Server Training class offered for interested boys and girls

Deacon Steve will hold an Altar Server Training class on Thursday, December 6th, from 6 to 7 pm at the Parish Center. We are looking for boys and girls in third grade or higher to serve this very important role.

The Altar Server’s role is a unique one in the Catholic Church. Other than priests and deacons, no one else is allowed to so closely play a part in the preparation of the Eucharist. Your participation as an Altar Server is special. When you serve the priests and deacons, you serve the people of God, and above all, you serve Christ.

Please call the parish office at 908-735-4024 if you plan to attend the training.

Giving Tree

Rosary Society Giving Tree ready to grow through your generosity

The Rosary Society will be sharing the Giving Tree with various groups within our Church and Diocesan Community.

Gifts will be donated to The Friendship Center for New Beginnings in Flemington (the Center provides aid to single mothers), Life Choices (Phillipsburg), Family Promise, Trenton Area Soup Kitchen (CCD Class Project), and parishioners who are in need.

Please take a tag from the tree, purchase the gift, and tape the tag onto the package or envelope. This is our way to properly identify the gift and to know where the gift should be delivered. PLEASE DO NOT WRAP THE GIFT! Place gift certificates in an envelope and put them in the basket under the tree. This is a wonderful time to share our blessings with others who are in need.

The Giving Tree will be taken down on December 10th so all gifts must be brought in by Noon on December 10th. The gifts will be delivered to the various groups so that they receive them at an appropriate time. Thank you for supporting us with these projects!

Letter from Bishop Checchio

Bishop Checchio has that his letter below be shared with the parish. A PDF of the letter is also available for download.

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I know that so much of the news regarding the Church this whole summer has been painful and very difficult for all of us. The bad news seemingly does not end. However, I write to you in order to hopefully be a voice of encouragement amidst the discouragement and a ray of light in what may seem endless dark clouds. My hope is to provide some assurance to you that indeed our diocese continues to seek to seek to be in the light regarding clergy misconduct, and remain poised to respond in goodness and truth to whatever is placed before us.
