Thank you Carol
Have you ever arrived a little early for Mass and saw someone turning on the sanctuary lights, or placing the Lectionary on the lectern, or filling the holy water fonts, or generally attending to the sanctuary and sacristy? This is the Sacristan, whose general charge is the care of the sacristy, the church and their contents. The Sacristan is someone in whom the Church is placing a significant amount of trust and reliance.
So, right now, we would like to thank Carol Way, our sacristan. She is leaving our parish and will be moving with her family to Missouri. Carol worked tirelessly and generously behind-the-scenes every day to help the priests, cantors, altar servers, Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion and lectors to prepare the holy Mass. She has also “spoiled” us with fresh coffee and delicious treats after each Mass for the past 12 years.
Thank you, Carol, for your dedication to our Parish. The Mass would not run as smoothly, the parish be as orderly or our experience be quite as mystical without you. We will remember you in our prayers when we celebrate the Eucharist, which for so many years you helped prepare before the Mass began.
Thank You Judy
As I believe most of us are aware, our Director of Religious Education, Judith LaTournous, is also leaving our parish. I’m grateful for her 9 years of service to St. Catherine.
We wish to extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to Judy in shaping our program of Catechesis into a successful and fruitful ministry for our more than 200 Religious Education children and for our parish-at-large.
Not many may know, but she has spent untold hours in preparation and teaching time each week in order to pass on the Catholic faith to a new generation of believers-our children-and we join as Parishioners with all of our Religious Education parents in offering our collective appreciation. The time, energy and love you took is a powerful sign of your love for our Catholic Church and our Parish.
Your leadership and creativity as our Director of Religious Education, drew new families to our parish. One comment heard by new families drawn to St. Catherine’s Parish is that our religious education program actually teaches the faith. Thank you, again, for your dedication to our children, families and parish.
Thank You Chuck
Thank you also to Chuck LaTournous, our WebMaster. Chuck not only created our website, but maintained it since its origination. We appreciate his quick assistance with any additions, changes, or issues with the site. Thank you Chuck for your years of expertise.
Thank you Carol, Judy and Chuck. We will keep you and your family in our prayers!
