Our Church Cleaners

Our parish volunteers consist of dedicated lay men and women who do so much for our parish and our parishioners.

Pope Francis clearly appreciates those who work in some capacity for the Church. Our Holy Father said, “The mission of the Church in the world proceeds through the contribution of those who are part of it.” He also commented that “some think that there are only priests, the bosses, and then there are workers. No, the Church is all of us, everyone, each person has their role in the Church, but we are all the Church.”

Pope Francis celebrates Mass for various workers in the Vatican when his schedule permits. He also prays for those with whom he works, and when possible, interacts with them. He wants them to feel that they are integral to the mission of the Church. At St. Catherine of Siena, we often pray for our volunteers and their families. At least once a year we want to thank them publicly.

And so, A BIG THANK YOU to everyone who helps clean-up our church and in particular: Nancy Unorski, Debbie Fass, Jenny Deemer, Jean O’Grodnick, Jackie Parrinello, Jennifer Pasculli, Janice Mauro, Kathy Mathews, Jim Mathews, and Tom Murray. We see what you’re doing – you give of your time, energies, and talents. Our church sanctuary, offices, kitchen, and restrooms are shining; this couldn’t be done without you. Thanks again to all of you; your work and your ministry really matters.

The following “Parish Volunteers Blessing” reflects our desire for God to bless our volunteers as they continue to serve us in so many ways:

GOD OF LOVE AND HOSPITALITY,

WE ASK YOU TO BLESS OUR PARISH

VOLUNTEERS WHO COME TO HELP US IN

OUR MINISTRY. HEAL, STRENGTHEN, AND

COMFORT THEM. MAY THEY ALWAYS

KNOW THE PRESENCE OF CHRIST,

EXPERIENCE THE JOY OF HIS FRIENDSHIP,

AND GROW IN HIS LOVE. WE ASK THIS

THROUGH JESUS CHRIST, OUR LORD. AMEN.

As we reflect on this prayer, we are invited to be thankful for our parish volunteers at Saint Catherine of Siena for all that they do every day. Through their faithful service, they truly enhance the spiritual vitality of our wonderful faith community.
