Local parishes to offer Memorial Day Masses

Rev. Msgr. Joseph Celano will celebrate an outdoor Memorial Day Mass at 10 a.m. on May 28th (rain or shine) on the grounds of Resurrection Cemetery, Hoes Lane and Park Ave., Piscataway. At the same time, Very Rev. Thomas J. Walsh, pastor of St. Bartholomew Parish in East Brunswick, will celebrate Mass at Holy Cross Cemetery, 840 Cranbury South River Road, Jamesburg.

As part of a national Catholic cemeteries’ celebration entitled, “Serving God and Country: A Memorial Day Salute to Our Heroes,” there will be a wreath laying ceremony, which will include honor guard participation and the playing of “Taps” at the end of the Mass.
