Christmas

Dear Parishioners,

The Christmas Gospel speaks to us of a family, rejoicing at a child’s birth, their lives uniquely affected by God’s presence in their midst, responding with faith and trust to their special role in the history of salvation.

The example of the Holy Family inspires us as we celebrate Christmas. As they rejoice at Jesus’ birth, so too do we, remembering the new divine life made possible by Jesus’ life on earth.

I want to encourage you, in as sincere a way as I can, to remember to keep Christ “first” in all you do and say while you are going through your Christmas activities.  By keeping Christ first, we can be sure to reach out to those around us (yes, even those who are rude) with the true message of Christmas, and that is that Jesus Christ came to earth to seek and to save that which was lost.

Take time as well to be faithful to Church, as well as remember to pray and read God’s Word. We have a lot going on here at the church during the Christmas season, and you may stay fully in tune with all that is happening by visiting our website at www.scoschurch.org and/or reading the church bulletin.

Be sure to invite a friend! This is one of the greatest times of the year to invite someone to attend church with you, so ask the Lord to help you think of a few people right now to invite so they too can hear the message of Christ!

To all I extend my prayerful best wishes for a joyous and blessed Christmas. I am deeply grateful to all of you for all that is being accomplished in the life of the parish. As I ask your prayers, I assure you of mine, that in the New Year we who are God’s family on earth my serve Him with gladness.

My God richly bless you at Christmas!

Fr. Chester
