Local parishes to offer Memorial Day Masses

Rev. Msgr. Joseph Celano will celebrate an outdoor Memorial Day Mass at 10 a.m. on May 28th (rain or shine) on the grounds of Resurrection Cemetery, Hoes Lane and Park Ave., Piscataway. At the same time, Very Rev. Thomas J. Walsh, pastor of St. Bartholomew Parish in East Brunswick, will celebrate Mass at Holy Cross Cemetery, 840 Cranbury South River Road, Jamesburg.

As part of a national Catholic cemeteries’ celebration entitled, “Serving God and Country: A Memorial Day Salute to Our Heroes,” there will be a wreath laying ceremony, which will include honor guard participation and the playing of “Taps” at the end of the Mass. (Read more…)

Meals on Wheels drivers needed

Meals on Wheels needs your help! As one of the last meal delivery programs in New Jersey to depend solely on volunteer drivers, new drivers are always needed. By committing approximately two hours—once a month—you can make a big difference in the lives of Hunterdon County’s homebound seniors by delivering hot, nutritious lunches.

Special Collection this weekend to benefit Haitian Relief

Before the earthquake, Haiti had been described as one of the poorest countries on the face of the earth. After the earthquake, it became the poorest country on earth. Next weekend, through the Annual Mission Cooperative Appeal, we welcome Deacon Enock Berluche who will speak with us on behalf of the people of Haiti and the Source de Vie Community in Allentown. Source de Vie means “Source of Life.”

Funds are needed for projects to help the community in Haiti become self-sufficient. (Read more…)

Don’t forget your ShopRite gift cards

ShopRite Gift Cards are available for purchase after each Mass and from the church business office during the week. Use the cards during your regular shopping trips—it’s a great way to support parish programs at no cost you. Simply use the card to pay for any purchase and any remaining balance stays on the card.

Cards are offered in denominations of $25, $50, and $100, and 5% of every sale goes to the parish as fundraising for our programs to help those in need. (Read more…)

Clothing donations

Help others, save the planet with your used clothing

Thinking about cleaning out the closets for Summer? Clothing donation bins are located at the Parish Center parking lot. Your clothing donations will be shipped throughout the US, Eastern Europe, Asia, Africa, and South America.

For the use of our Parish Center site, we will receive a monthly payment of $100 for each bin. As we help others by donating clothing, we also help our Parish gain funds toward our Building Campaign.
