A little snow can’t stop our progress

Our latest photo gallery shows the addition of the church building as it continues to rise, despite a snowy March:

Gallery Six

The walls of the new addition continue to rise, and the floor for the main level has been poured. The cross shape created by the new transepts can be clearly seen in aerial photos by parishioner Rob Preston.

A new slideshow with 28 photos is on display in the parish center narthex before and after weekend Masses.

All five previous galleries are still available on the website:

Bishop’s Annual Appeal Message and Video: ‘We are Priviledged’

Bishop Checchio’s Annual Appeal Message is a timely reminder of how blessed we are to be able to carry out the work of Jesus in our own community. His letter to our parish is available here and his video message can be viewed below.

Consider your own abilities to help our diocese continue its mission by making a sacrificial gift, “knowing that we are cooperating with the grace of the Holy Spirit and Lighting a Fire in the Heart of our World.”

Kiosk offers inspirational DVDs, books and more

Lighthouse KioskSt. Catherine’s now offers materials from Lighthouse Catholic Media—a “practical and effective program to help Catholics know their faith.”

Denise Botto, who is running the program for the parish, said “We all live busy, busy lives. Finding the time to learn about our faith can be difficult.” She said the presence of the Lighthouse Media kiosk provides many options to meet parishioners’ needs whether it’s a CD to listen to on the way to work, a DVD to watch or a book to read. “These items will help deepen your understanding and love for the Catholic faith,” said Botto.

A kiosk has been placed in the narthex of the St. Catherine’s Parish Center, offering a variety of CDs, DVDs, books and booklets. These feature some of the most well-known Catholic speakers and writers: Bishops, priests, deacons and eminent Catholic laymen and women. The material is available after Mass, while it lasts. The kiosk is periodically restocked with new titles, so check it often.
