Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion Qualified individuals selected by the pastor are appointed by the Bishop to serve as Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist. When requested by the pastor, Eucharistic ministers may distribute communion to other members of the faithful, to the sick or aged in their  homes, nursing homes, hospitals or other institutions.

Readers/ Lectors The lectors/readers proclaim the reading from the Sacred Scripture except for the Gospel. In the absence of a deacon, they may also announce the intentions or Prayer of the Faithful and in the absence of a psalmist, recite the Psalm between the readings.
